Virtuoso acoustic guitarists Mark Cosgrove and Rolly Brown will be featured in their tenth annual "National Guitar Champs" autumn guitar event on Saturday, Nov. 29th, at Buckingham Friends School in Lahaska PA. Both Bucks County performers have won the prestigious National Guitar Championships held annually in Winfield KS; Cosgrove in Flatpicking and Brown in the Fingerstyle division.

This year's guest performer will be Tony McManus of Edinburgh, Scotland, considered by many to be the world's finest Celtic guitarist. All three guitarists will be featured in a Saturday afternoon workshop from 1 till 4 p.m., followed by an open jam session, and there will be limited time on Sunday to schedule private lessons. The 8 p.m. concert will feature solo sets by each performer as well as an ensemble set highlighting the interplay of their instrumental and vocal styles. Rolly Brown said, "This is our tenth year, and each event has had a unique flavor. We treat it as a sort of giant living room get together, and Tony McManus's humor and music will fit in perfectly."

The Philadelphia Inquirer says, "Cosgrove and Brown's fingers turn still guitar strings into a whirlwind of melody...these musicians have mastered the art of playing acoustic guitar." Cosgrove, currently playing guitar in the Jerry Douglas Band, is known for his hard-driving bluegrass playing. He has toured internationally and been featured in various national publications in recent years. Brown, a solo performer, sideman to various folk luminaries, and former host of WXPN's "Guitar Wizards", plays blues, jazz, swing, folk, bluegrass, and originals.

Tony McManus launched his solo career in 1994 after many years as a highly sought after accompanist. He has appeared on over fifty albums with a who's who of the Celtic music world, in addition to recording several critically acclaimed solo CD's. British guitar legend John Renbourn has called McManus "the best Celtic guitarist in the world", and Tony's ability to translate the complex musics of Scotland, Ireland, Brittany, Galicia, Asturias, Cape Breton, and Quebec onto the solo guitar is stunning and beautiful.
